The Age of AI

AI has been something that we have talked about fairly heavily in our class and for good reason because AI has had a huge impact on the school system and in the rest of the world recently being covered by a lot of media sources. Nowadays we have a lot more information about what AI is and how it impacts the world around us.

AI has been used in many positive ways but has also been used in many negative ways throughout the last year that it has been popularized. AI has taken jobs and factories and has been able to work on cars and phones, and even to make production faster through machine learning. Machine learning is where an AI works with a factory machine and teaches it ways to better produce the product that they are focused on in that factory.

One of the most significant impacts of AI has been on the way we work. Automation has been a key driver of productivity gains in many industries, allowing businesses to operate more efficiently and cost-effectively. Many businesses have used AI to better their business models and gain better information when it comes to their company and what they could be doing better with financial productivity and the money that they will gain throughout each quarter of the year.

AI is made life very convenient you think of the artificial intelligence that is in our phones and one example is Alexa from Amazon. Alexa can do a lot for you and do it a lot faster than you could such as changing the temperature of your house, turning on the fans, and even calling someone in half the time that it would take you to dial someone up.

There have also been many ways that a high has been used for negative things the video that we watched on AI had a very interesting quote about how AI is used to take information through different websites such as Google “We thought that we were searching Google. We had no idea that Google was searching us”. AI has also been a problem by taking away jobs in factories and even in retailing with things such as self-checkout and places like McDonald's where you can order your own food without even having to talk to a human. AI also affects the way that we can be social with one another because if we don't have to communicate with one another people are not going to do it and it'll ruin the social skills that we have with one another.

In conclusion, AI is a thing that needs to be closely monitored and looked at while professionals continue to push boundaries with what AI can do. AI should not have the power to take our jobs completely and people who are creating the AI and using it should be trying to monitor it so that it can be used more professionally and without degrading any human rights of the people that may be using it.
